Community Projects

The Spokane Branch AAUW ‘s Community Projects Fund was started in 1987. The fund is held and invested by the Inland Northwest Community Foundation (INWCF). East year, the return on investment would be be used to fund several mini-grants of up to $500. The recipients were local non-profit groups in the Spokane area that promoted the AAUW mission of advancing equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research.

In 2015 the membership voted to convert the fund held by the Inland Northwest Community Foundation (INWCF) into a Donor Advised Fund. This will allow Spokane Branch AAUW to specify one community agency for our annual Community Project Award.  INWCF will certify that the chosen agency is accredited and ensure accountability of the funds.
